What's a Widget?

A widget is an embedible web application that can be reused in multiple locations and updated simultainiously. What does that mean? A widget is an online tool that "does something," like searching for articles for example.

Why should I use a widget?

For one thing, widgets are easy to maintain, becuase they can be centrally managed: change the widget one place, and it changes everywhere. Additionally, they can be added anywhere, like in BlackBoard or on a web page. Lastly, and most importantly, using these widgets will help your students find trustworthy information.

Let's get started!

The links on the left will show you the various widgets you can make using this guide. The instructions should be pretty straight forward. If you need help building your widget, you can check out the videos that we have made.
