About Joy

I am a Collection Development Librarian here at the Pollak Library. I also work in Reference and Instruction, particularly with Freshman Programs. I have a small assignment in Access Services and am currently working with the library's Student Core Leaders, which is a group of student assistant representatives in the library. I graduated with a BA in Sociology from CSUF and a Masters of Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. I love being a librarian! It is the best job in the world. My interests within the profession are mainly diversity in librarianship, and intellectual freedom issues. It is great to be in a profession that whole-heartedly defends and promotes First Amendment rights! I am also a Harry Potter fanatic! It is one of my professional goals to be a Wizard Rock subject specialist. I am the self-named Wizard Rock Librarian at the Pollak Library. If you donít know what Wizard Rock is, you are missing out.
