Biography

Although new to the CSUF faculty -- I was hired in May 2009 as Systems Librarian -- I am not new to Cal State Fullerton. I completed my B.A. in History here in 2001, and did most of the work here for the San Jose State M.L.I.S. (2005).

I am a "techie librarian", having worked as both a reference and instruction librarian, as well as a web and database developer. My research specializations include emerging technologies, academic technologies, digital history, public & local history, genealogy, public records, demographics, and statistics. My techical proficiences include social media management, web development, database development, information architecture, and computer-assisted reporting.

Prior to CSUF, I worked as a database developer for a local internet start-up company, as a systems specialist and news research librarian for the Orange County Register/Freedom Communications, and as a Library Assistant for Mission Viejo Library where I managed the technology center and taught technology classes. I most recently had the very fun privilege of doing a four-month stint filling in as the web manager for Disneyland Resort public relations.
